Could you briefly introduce yourself and AEB’s role?
I am Petya Mancheva, Partner Manager at AEB, a German company specialising in software solutions for international logistics, export management, and customs formalities.
AEB supports businesses in the digitalisation of their customs processes and ensures regulatory compliance at both European and international levels.
What is your scope of activity (countries, sectors, types of clients)?
AEB operates on an international scale, with a strong presence in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and also in Asia.
Our clients primarily include companies in the industrial, retail, and logistics sectors that import or export goods and require robust tools to manage their customs obligations across various countries.
Since when have you been collaborating with Akanea?
We have been collaborating with Akanea since 2016. The partnership started gradually and has since evolved into a structured collaboration aimed at addressing the concrete needs of our French clients, with a growing volume of transactions.

What prompted you to seek a connection solution to French Customs?
Our clients in France have specific obligations in relation to French Customs, and it became essential for us to offer them an integrated, compliant, and automated solution. Thanks to Akanea, over 6,000 customs declarations are now processed annually by eight of our international clients.

What were your initial expectations regarding the data transmission service to French Customs? Have they been met?
We were seeking a solution that could integrate easily with our system while ensuring compliance with the requirements of French Customs. These expectations have been fully met. What types of customs formalities are handled through the solution?
Currently, our exchanges primarily concern export flows. However, with upcoming regulatory developments, particularly the European Customs Data Hub project expected by 2030, we are preparing to expand the scope of our interfacing.
