In 2019, Skipper Groupe’s transport department (Skipper Transit) had 8 people. In 2025, nearly 40 employees manage overseas, customs, chartering and road flows (spread across 3 departments).

The challenge: supporting strong growth and modernizing tools
Before AKANEA TMS Freight Forwarding, Skipper Transit used an internally developed tool, originally designed for a small team. With increasing volumes, diversified flows, and the arrival of new employees, the transport department needed a more modern solution, capable of structuring overseas operations and supporting long-term development.

Starting in 2018, a project manager joined Skipper Groupe to select and deploy a new TMS. The choice fell on AKANEA TMS Freight Forwarding for overseas activities, and one year later on AKANEA TMS for chartering.
The implementation was carried out quickly and in an organized way, with close support from AKANEA teams to secure the go-live and adapt the configuration to Skipper Transit’s organization.
